Darren is currently an Associate of the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers (AIPP) and an Accredited Professional Photographer. His photography has earned him multiple national and international awards, appearing in the past four years of the Australian Professional Photography Awards Annual and the Trierenberg Super Circuit.
Darren has an all together different perspective of life and the fabulous human race. Unable to laugh at ourselves, or critique ourselves, Darren’s philosophy is to develop images that ask questions, ridicule the status quo and empower those whom the world says “you can’t do that”! You know, nudity, implied nudity, provocative dress ups, humourous dress ups, lingerie and boudoir ..
The Whingeing Pom was setup to tackle the norm. We live in a world where being perfect is unattainable, yet online and print magazines will have you believing that being a mother of six, or single parent having fun, is a no. Flaws and imperfections are a no too, and unfortunately, our world is falling for it. You only have to count the number of social media apps that come with filters, and the numbers that use them.
The Whingeing Pom is a body of photographic creatives who assist others in creating a fantasy, private want or desire, or simply an image like no other. TWP is a place where you can go and get that creative shot, but you don’t know where to begin, where to look or how go to about it.
TWP photographs real people … wait, that sounds wrong … TWP photographs everyday people … from all walks of life and backgrounds. Those who chose to work with TWP understand they will never age in a photograph and that being forever young, can be very rewarding.
